The poet

About

I'm a software engineer in Texas. For years I wrote blog posts to get through a painful stretch of life; when the pain lifted, the well went dry. Poetry gave me a new one.

I write about single days. Almost everything about love is about falling into it, falling out of it, or looking back at the whole thing from the end. I wanted the part in the middle: one morning, one meeting, five minutes on the floor with my son. Nothing grand. There's plenty there.

The poems are short and they don't explain themselves. I'd rather hand you the pieces and let you do the arithmetic.

The first two that made me take this seriously were about my wife and my son, which is most of what you need to know.

I also write about machine learning at cegarza.com.
